4-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDI)
This course is approved for traffic violators who must complete a Basic Driver Improvement course (BDI). You may take this
course either as part of a plea agreement with the court or to have points removed from your record. If you were involved
in an accident, this is not the correct course for you.
Traffic Collision Avoidance Course (TCAC)
This course is approved for traffic violators who must complete a Basic Driver Improvement course because they were involved
in a traffic accident involving death or bodily injury requiring transport to a medical facility.
8-Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Course (IDI)
The court may require that you complete this course if you have already taken the 4-hour course in the
last 12 months. They may also require it for traffic violators with a poor driving history or who are
in danger of a license suspension. This course is different from the 8-hour Aggressive Driving Course
and the 8-hour Driving While License Suspended course. Your court order will identify which type of
course you should take.
