There are several different types of courses to choose from depending on your situation. It is important that
you register for the correct traffic school online course in order to have your ticket dismissed. You may choose
to attend a traffic school course once in any 12-month period and no more than five times in your lifetime. You
may not take this course if you hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

4-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDI)

4-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDI)
The 4-hour course is approved for traffic violators who must complete a Basic Driver Improvement course (BDI).
You may take this course either as part of a plea agreement with the court or to have points removed from your
record. If you were involved in an accident that resulted in the ticket, you must sign up for the TCAC course (below).
Traffic Collision Avoidance Course (TCAC)
This course is approved for traffic violators who must complete a Basic Driver Improvement course because they
were involved in a traffic accident involving death or bodily injury requiring transport to a medical facility.
IF you were not in an accident when you got the ticket, register for the BDI course (above).
8-Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Course (IDI)
The court may require that you complete this course if you have already taken the 4-hour course in the last
12 months. They may also require it for traffic violators with a poor driving history or who are in danger
of a license suspension. This course is different from the 8-hour Aggressive Driving Course and the 8-hour
Driving While License Suspended course. Your court order will identify which type of course you should take.
